Our Marketing and Communications Work
We're involved in the organising committee taking the Park World Tour to Perth in Scotland in 2010. Principally tasked with managing the Marketing & Publicity of the event we'll be involved in all aspects of the design, branding & promotion of the event. We'll help deliver a top class event that makes an impact to both the elite orienteers competing and the general public who will have orienteering presented to them in Perth City Centre
City of London Orienteering Race 2008-10
Involved as one of the organisers of the first London City Race, we were in the perfect position to try and capitalise on its position as London's first, and Britain's largest, Urban Orienteering Race. Developing a range of attractive marketing collateral (2008, 2009 and 2010: UK/overseas) we are targetting both orienteers and runners to try and get newcomers to try the sport. As well as this, in 2008 we delivered pre and post race local and regional press coverage.
2008 Success: Around 1/5th of participants were newcomers to the sport, along with a well receieved pre-event interview on BBC London Sport (mp3 file), along with follow ups, thanks to some crime fighting competitors, in the Kent and other local press, as well as a mention in the Times Business section.
JK International Festival of Orienteering 2008
For the JK 2008 we gathered quotes from top domestic and international orienteers, before compiling a well targeted press release aimed at a number of local and regional media contacts.
Success: Good coverage from the BBC with an interview with Woking born GB International Graham Gristwood on BBC Local Radio (mp3 file) and resultant online coverage, as well as local press coverage.
.
On behalf of the Scottish 6 Days company, we worked with Podge in helping them understand the sport of orienteering, and managed relationships between Podge, the event organisers and the top domestic orienteers to facilitate a number of media opportunities.
Success: STV news feature and numerous national, regional and local newspaper stories.
